Project Overview

The City of Milwaukee and Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) are proposing improvements to approximately 0.75 miles of WIS 32 (S. 1st Street). The purpose of this project is to provide long-term improvements to the pavement, operation, and safety of the street.

The project is proposing to:

  • Replace entire pavement structure of WIS 32 (S. 1st Street, E. Pittsburgh Avenue, N. Milwaukee Street) from E. Florida Street to E. St. Paul Avenue
  • Replace curb ramps to meet ADA standards
  • Update traffic signals
  • Evaluate bicycle facilities

Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2031.
