Located in Milwaukee's 5th Aldermanic District, 97th & Thurston is a 1.77-acre neighborhood park that continues to evolve as a community gathering place. Following last fall's installation of a new inclusive sensory dome, Milwaukee City Parks is beginning the next phase of improvements to further enhance recreation, accessibility, and neighborhood amenities throughout the park.

Through a community-driven planning process, residents will help identify priorities for future investments, which may include updates to play areas, park amenities, seating, landscaping, gathering spaces, and other site enhancements. The project will also explore opportunities to incorporate art and design that celebrate the unique character and identity of the surrounding neighborhood.

The feedback gathered during community engagement will guide the final concept and help ensure future improvements reflect the needs and priorities of the community.
