The City of Milwaukee is developing the first citywide Transportation and Mobility Plan, which will guide how we design, operate, maintain, and invest in our streets to benefit communities. The Transportation and Mobility Plan will become part of the City's Comprehensive Plan upon its completion and will replace the Citywide Policy Plan’s Transportation Chapter.

The process

The Transportation and Mobility Plan will be data- and community-driven planning process to:

  • outline key policy needs and develop priorities
  • identify transformative physical infrastructure projects
  • set a vision for the future of mobility in Milwaukee - whether you get around by bus, car, bike, scooter, mobility device, on foot, or all of the above.

The plan will include an implementation and capital improvement plan to make sure that all of Milwaukee benefits from the plan's recommendations.

Help us plan!

The Citywide Mobility Plan presents a unique opportunity for Milwaukee residents to engage in a discussion about how we move around our city. Community engagement for the Citywide Transportation & Mobility Plan will take place in four phases, and will include meetings with advisory groups, community workshops & open house events, pop-up events throughout the city, and online engagement activities. Stay tuned for public meeting opportunities later this fall, and check out other ways to be involved in the planning process by taking the survey below.
