Project Overview
The City of Milwaukee and Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) are proposing to resurface approximately 1.2 miles of pavement on Appleton Avenue (WIS 175) from Burleigh Street to 76th Street (WIS 181). The purpose of this project is to improve pavement condition and ride quality, assess multimodal accommodations, update traffic signal equipment, and address safety concerns along the corridor.
Proposed Improvements
- Remove asphalt and replace with new asphalt
- Joint and crack repair to the underlying concrete
- Curb bump outs at intersections
- Replace traffic signals
- Add bicycle and pedestrian accommodations
Construction Impacts
Traffic impacts are still being evaluated. Access to residents and businesses will be maintained.
