The City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County are extending the Beerline Trail northwest from Capitol Drive to connect to the new 20th Street Powerline Trail. This 1.8-mile extension will combine off-street trail with on-street protected bike lanes to create a safe, continuous route that is comfortable for people of all ages and abilities.

Project Goals

  • Close a key trail network gap, connecting neighborhoods across major barriers like I-43 and Capitol Drive
  • Create a safe route for people to comfortably walk, bike, and roll
  • Increase and improve the options residents have to travel around their community
  • Provide more spaces for people to get outside, connect with each other, and enjoy moving along the way
