This project will replace the pavement and address the deteriorating street condition along sections of W. Forest Home Avenue (WIS 24 ) and S. 27th Street (WIS 241).

Project limits:

• W. Forest Home Avenue (WIS 24) - S. 45th Street to WIS 241 (27th Street)
• S. 27th Street (WIS 241) - Union Pacific Railroad bridges to W. Forest Home Avenue (WIS 24)

Proposed improvements include:

• Replacing entire pavement structure
• Replacing curb and gutter
• Replacing storm sewer
• Bridge maintenance
• Potential sidewalk replacement
• Potential upgrades to bicycle and pedestrian accommodations
• New traffic signals and lighting
• New pavement marking and signing

Alternatives being reviewed (see PIM #1 Alternatives):

• On-street bike lanes
• Raised protected bike lanes

Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2033, but may be advanced to 2031, if funding is available. W. Forest Home Avenue (WIS 24 ) and S. 27th Street (WIS 241) will remain open to traffic during construction. Lane reductions are anticipated.
