Project Overview
The City of Milwaukee - Department of Public Works and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) are designing a resurfacing project for W. Lincoln Avenue between S. 43rd and S. 34th streets.
The project will:
- Recondition the pavement
- Improve bicycle facilities
- Enhance pedestrian safety, accessibility, and multimodal connections
W. Lincoln Avenue is an important east/west connection for people walking, biking, driving, and using transit. The corridor serves MCTS Route 53 and intersects the 37th Street Bike Boulevard. The project corridor is also located entirely within the City of Milwaukee’s High Injury Network and has a 2024 average daily traffic volume of approximately 18,300 vehicles per day.
