Why MKE GO?
Rising transportation costs, parking challenges, construction, and changing travel conditions can make it harder for employees and residents to get where they need to go. Even when other transportation options such as biking, busing, scooters, walking, and carpooling are available, people may not know how to use them or what will work best for a particular trip.
MKE GO helps people discover, understand, and try transportation options that fit their needs. By making other transportation options easier to use, MKE GO can help reduce the number of single-occupancy vehicle trips.
MKE GO's first initiative will focus on the Menomonee Valley and surrounding areas, including the near west side neighborhoods of Marquette, Merrill Park, Concordia, and Avenues West and near south side neighborhoods of Clarke Square, Silver City, Burnham Park, and Layton Park. The initiative will build on established employer and community relationships and existing events.

Milwaukee has a variety of transportation options that can help you get to work, school, appointments, shopping, and other destinations.
MKE GO can help you understand what is available and choose what works best for you.
The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) provides bus service throughout Milwaukee County, connecting residents to jobs, schools, healthcare, shopping, entertainment, and other destinations. MCTS offers tools to help you plan your trip, find routes and schedules, track buses in real time, and pay your fare.
Explore routes, schedules, fares, and trip-planning tools on the MCTS website.
Bublr Bikes is Milwaukee's bikeshare system, providing bikes at docking stations throughout Milwaukee and surrounding communities. Bublr can be a convenient option for short trips, commuting, connecting to transit, or exploring the city without a car. Riders can use the Bublr app to find stations, check bike availability, and plan their trips.
Sharing a ride can be a convenient way to get to work while reducing the number of vehicles on the street. MKE GO can connect employees with carpool matching, resources, and incentives, when available.
Walking and biking can be practical options for short trips and can also help connect you to other transportation services. Milwaukee has an expanding network of protected bike lanes, trails, and connections to transit and bikeshare.
You don't have to choose just one way to travel. Many trips can combine transportation options –
for example, taking MCTS to work and using a Bublr or your own bike for the first or last part of your trip, or walking to a bus stop and taking transit for the rest of your commute.
MKE GO can help you understand your options and find a combination that works for you.

MKE GO is a City of Milwaukee initiative funded through Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) dollars as a pilot initiative from 2026 through 2028. The initiative is designed to reduce single-occupancy vehicle trips while making it easier for Milwaukee residents, employees, and employers to understand and use transportation options already available in their communities.
Through information, personalized support, incentives, and connections to transportation services, MKE GO will help people explore options that work best for them and make it easier to try something new. The City hopes to build on the lessons and partnerships developed during the pilot and continue the initiative in other areas of the city beyond 2028.
