414 in Motion
The City of Milwaukee's Transportation & Mobility Plan
The City of Milwaukee is developing its first citywide Transportation and Mobility Plan, which will guide how we design, operate, maintain, and invest in our streets. 414 in Motion: The City of Milwaukee’s Transportation & Mobility Plan will become part of the City's Comprehensive Plan upon its completion and will replace the Citywide Policy Plan’s Transportation Chapter.
The process
414 in Motion will be a data- and community-driven planning process to:
- outline key policy needs and develop priorities
- identify transformative physical infrastructure projects
- set a vision for the future of mobility in Milwaukee - whether you get around by bus, car, bike, scooter, mobility device, on foot, or all of the above.
The plan will include an implementation and capital improvement plan to make sure that all of Milwaukee benefits from the plan's recommendations.
What we've done so far:
During Phase 1, we:
- Listened to residents – about their communities’ transportation needs and priorities (Read the Phase 1 Engagement Summary here!)
- Analyzed the data – to understand the opportunities and challenges around mobility in Milwaukee (Read the State of Mobility here!)
- Set our sights on the future – laid out our vision and goals for how transportation and mobility will evolve in Milwaukee in the years ahead (Read the Vision and Goals here!)
During Phase 2, we:
- Held 6 Open House Public Meetings around Milwaukee to hear feedback on the draft vision and goals and gather ideas for strategies and actions. (See the Open House Boards here!) (Ver en español aquí)
- Recorded a virtual webinar about the draft vision and goals of the plan and ideas for strategies and actions (view the webinar in English here - Spanish and Hmong recordings coming soon!)
Help us plan!
414 in Motion presents a unique opportunity for Milwaukee residents to engage in a discussion about how we move around our city. We are now in the second phase of 414 in Motion and are working together as a community to develop strategies, policies, and key transportation projects to shape the future of mobility in Milwaukee. In the coming months, residents can contribute to these ideas through open house events, pop-up events, and online engagement activities. Leave a comment on the open house boards and interactive map, sign up for updates, and check out our upcoming in-person events below.
