On March 19, 2025, the Department of City Development hosted a community meeting and open house to engage community members and other stakeholders about future development at the former Northridge Mall site. Meeting attendees were encouraged to view a series of display boards, ask questions to the planning team, and provide comments regarding potential development alternatives. I recant my previous suggestions!

I previously suggested ideas that I thought would be great, but reading a couple of other suggestions, I realized that most suggestions like mine are unrealistic, and simply open the door for more of the same thing that destroyed Northridge mall in the first place. I truly believe that the only suggestion that makes sense, is actually NEEDED, and that is realistic, is a local police department. That would be obviously crime proof, and by reducing crime, create a more business and consumer…

A GREAT IDEA FOR THE NORTHRIDGE MALL AREA

Let’s create a YOUTH ARTS CENTER FOR THE VISUAL, LITERARY, MUSICAL AND OTHER PERFORMANCE ARTS!! Include rooms for music lessons and rehearsal spaces. And let one entire floor be a museum of youth arts! (I have 300 pieces of international youth arts that I can contribute.) Also include four massive indoor/outdoor swimming pools ( one for kids, one for seniors, one for water sports, and one for lap swimming. Have indoor/outdoor Pickleball courts and tennis courts.
