The Cities of Milwaukee, Greenfield, West Allis, and St. Francis are partnering to study two WE Energies powerline corridors extending from the new, 4.5-mile Greenfield Powerline Trail for their potential as shared-use trails. The two corridors include:
- North-South Corridor: north of W. Coldspring Road to the Hank Aaron State Trail
- East-West Corridor: Pondview Park east of S. 35th Street to the Oak Leaf Trail along Lake Michigan
Project Goals
This study will set the stage for future trail construction by:
- Analyzing safety and terrain
- Determining routes
- Identifying on-street connections and improvements
- Determining trail phasing
- Preparing cost estimates
